Setting up with SIM cards in the UK
Setting up with SIM cards in the UK
Not as simple as it should be…It has been 12 years since I have been back and yes a lot has changed, but a lot also hasn’t. For an advanced country with a population that can spread across Australia and therefore not fill alone, the technology here is so archaic. For example if you intend to buy a SIM card where you can purchase a bundle that includes mins/texts/calls it’s not that simple

This is what 2degrees NZ can offer. You can top up whenever you like, full control and carry on data.
In the UK, in order to receive a bundle package you have to sign up with your bank details so they will debit your account monthly. This takes away the hassle to do it yourself but beware you require a credit rating before you can purchase the sim. They treat it like a contract but not, as you are able to cancel within 30 days.
We went with Virgin

With our package of £12 a month we receive unlimited calls to certain numbers/unlimited texts and 2gig of data.
They are not a bad service however if you intend to purchase two sims under one name then don’t. It will just confuse the system and you can spend weeks trying to sort it out.
The bonus though is that there is a lot more competition to choosing the right plan, so shop around first.
