Hampshire – Hayling Island

February 18, 2017.

We popped down Titchfield way for the weekend and visited Hayling Island on the Saturday. Simon was born in Chichester – just across the water and spent the first few years living on Hayling Island. We saw where he grew up and tootled round the Island, enjoying lunch at The Barley Mow.

There are lovely beach fronts around the south side of the Island and it is considerably more densely populated then we thought it would be. More than just pockets of property but almost a joining up around the Island. There are a number of holiday camps dotted around too. Friends of ours who visited last year went to Hayling Island for the weekend, to camp where his family have been going for years (we may need to check that out sometime).

It was a lovely winter’s day, blue sky, bright sunshine with the bite of winter leaving us soon (hopefully). Nice to get some fresh sea air.
