“Chichester – Birthplace of Simon”

May 3, 2016 – Sara headed over to Chichester for the day, to get out of the house and explore somewhere new. Simon’s Mum was doing some cover work at the local Post Office, so Sara took the chance to visit somewhere new. The main incentive was to see the city where Simon was born many years ago. It was a beautiful sunny day and the drive over was pleasant through the English country side. There is a 6 mile stretch on the motorway over to Chichester where there is no turning off or stopping, completely lined with trees and lush green trees this time of year.

Chichester Saint Richard’s Hospital

Market Cross

A wander round up to the hospital, circling back into the centre of Chichester lead to coffee time at the local Starbucks. A quiet read while enjoying coffee for a little while. Then out to explore.

First up was the city’s centre piece the Cathedral. The Cathedral looked impressive in it’s old stonework and against the beautiful blue sky.

Chichester Cathedral

Inside was just as impressive. Cathedrals are very elegant. Having only been a few, so far, there is a classy lady like elegance to them.

Bell Tower

A stroll through the gardens next to the Deanery was rather pleasant. Sitting in the warm sunshine reading.

A lovely excursion for the day.
